Ado Yakubu Wanka, born on the 6th of January, 1955, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience across various sectors. He held pivotal roles at Unity Bank PLC from March 2008 to August 2013, including the position of the Managing Director/Chief Executive, overseeing strategic planning and stakeholder engagement. He also served as Group Executive Director for Risk Management & Controls and Executive Director for Retail Banking in the course of employment at the bank.

Before Unity Bank, Ado Yakubu Wanka was Executive Director Finance & Administration at Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Authority (JDA) from August 2006 to March 2008. His career spans executive positions at entities including First Bank of Nigeria PLC, Gamji Bank of Nigeria PLC, FSB International Bank PLC and Encom Investments Limited. He is serving as Chairman on the boards of APT Securities and funds Limited, Tangerine APT Pensions and Funds Limited and at Encom Investment Limited. He is also a Director in Armeco Nigeria Limited.

With academic qualifications in Chemical Engineering and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Ado Yakubu Wanka is recognised for his contributions to various sectors of the economy. Committed to excellence, he continues to leverage his expertise to drive success in his endeavours. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (HBS) Boston, USA and the Institute of Management Development (IMD) Lausanne, Switzerland.
