Rakiya is a distinguished IT professional with a remarkable career spanning over 25 years across diverse sectors, including financial services, telecommunications, and technology. Her extensive expertise is complemented by a wealth of certifications, including Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Lean Process Practitioner, Certified Enterprise and Solution Architect, Certified IT Governance Professional (COBIT, CGEIT), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Chartered Accountant (ICAN).

Throughout her career, Rakiya has consistently showcased her commitment to delivering exceptional results and unwavering professionalism. Her innovative approach to problem-solving has consistently added substantial value to the industries she has served, making her an invaluable asset in any leadership role.

Rakiya is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Information Security Audit and Control Association (ISACA), EC Council, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, the Nigerian Computer Society, and the Computer Professionals (Registration Council of) Nigeria.Council.

Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), and a Bachelor of Science (with First Class Honors) in Computer Science from Ahmadu Bello University (ATBU) . She has continued to enhance her professional knowledge and skills through various leadership and training programs. These include Leadership for the 21st Century, Building Effective Cybersecurity Teams, Leadership and Diversity Program for Regulators, Problem-solving and Decision-making, and Executive Certificate in Public Policy.
