Born on the 4th February 1947 Chief (Dr) (Mrs.) Uche Azikiwe attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained BA (Hons) Education in English, M.Ed in Curriculum Studies, M.Ed in Sociology of Education/Women Studies and PhD in Sociology of Education/Women Studies.
Chief (Dr) (Mrs.) Uche Azikiwe lectured at the Nsukka High School between 1981-1987 before she moved to the Department of Educational Foundation, Faculty of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1987. She is presently a Senior Lecturer in the faculty. She was appointed to the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1999.
Dr. Uche Azikiwe is a recipient of the Nigeria national honours award of the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), and also a member of several professional bodies including, World Council of Curriculum & Instruction (WCCI), Network for Women Studies in Nigeria (NWSN), Curriculum Organization of Nigeria (CON), National Women Studies Association (NWSA), USA and Nigeria Association of University Women (NAUW).
Dr (Mrs.) Uche Azikiwe is the widow of late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
