Payments System Vision 2028
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) launched and officially presented to the public the Payments System Vision 2028 (PSV 2028) on June 01, 2026. This Vision is anchored on six guiding principles - Interoperability, Security, Inclusion, Innovation, Trust, and Collaboration - which will shape all initiatives under the framework. These principles reflect our determination to ensure that every Nigerian, across urban and rural communities, can access secure and efficient payment solutions. In parallel, PSV2028 prioritizes stronger cross-border integration and alignment with international standards, positioning Nigeria to play an important role in supporting intra-African trade and the evolving global payments ecosystem.
