Mr. O. O. Vincent (Late)
Retired as Governor - Served in the CBN from 6/28/1977 To 6/28/1982

Late Mr. Ola Vincent served as Governor of the Bank between 1977 and 1982. An elder statesman and respected opinion leader, Mr. Vincentís views on critical national issues were highly valued. He was appointed a Vice President at the African Development Bank, Abidjan, Cote Díivoire between 1966 and 1973.

Mr. Vincent was a life member of the Nigerian Economic Society and the Society for International Development and was a patron of some charitable organizations like the Red Cross Society and the Nigerian Society for the Blind.

He was married with children.

Facts : 1/1/1900
NEEDS:National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy was developed by the National Planning Commission, then headed by Prof Charles Soludo. It was endorsed by the Federal Executive Council of Nigeria as a poverty-alleviating strategy. The aim of the scheme was to meet the Millenium Developoment Goals of curbing the menace of poverty in Nigeria and bringing it to the barest minimum by the year 2015.
